Blow Cake Portrait Topper ™ – Custom Edible Wafer Standee

Upload a clear face photo and we transform it into a playful cartoon portrait with puffed cheeks and a blowing “O” mouth opening. We print it with food-safe edible inks on thick, sturdy wafer paper so it can be displayed in front of many cake shapes and sizes.

Important: This listing is for the custom edible printed portrait only. It does not include a straw, glitter, candles, sticks, backing, cake, cupcake, or any other accessories.

Sizes

The edible print is supplied on a rectangular wafer sheet. You select an approximate portrait height between 6" and 10".

• We scale the character so the face/portrait is approximately the selected height
• Exact height is not guaranteed due to photo proportions and layout
• You may trim around the printed character or leave the sheet rectangular
• The rectangular format allows compatibility with many cake sizes and shapes

How Customers Create the “Blow Cake” Effect (Customer Setup)

1. Position the candle: Place a candle in front of the mouth area. Many customers place the candle on a cupcake positioned in front of the main cake.
2. Stand the portrait: Position the wafer portrait upright near the front of the cake using one of the methods below.
3. Add a straw (customer-supplied): Insert a straw or tube behind the portrait so you can blow from behind and create the illusion that the character is blowing out the candle.
4. Optional sparkle effect: Customers may add edible glitter or sprinkles to the straw/tube to create the burst effect when blowing (customer-supplied).

Ways to Stand the Portrait

Simple method (most common):
Lightly press the wafer sheet against the front side of the cake. The natural moisture from frosting (especially buttercream) will gently hold the wafer upright. This method works well for many cakes and requires no tools.

Supported method (recommended for firmness):

1. Brush a thin layer of melted white chocolate, royal icing, or piping gel onto the back of the wafer print and adhere it to a food-safe acetate sheet, fondant plaque, or chocolate plaque. Let set.
2. Attach a food-safe lollipop stick or bamboo skewer using chocolate or royal icing.
3. Insert into the cake so the portrait stands in front of the candle.

Creative methods:
Customers may also support the topper using fondant shapes, cupcakes, chocolate decorations, or other cake decorating techniques.

Note: Picks, backers, straws, candles, glitter, sprinkles, and all assembly items are not included.

Storage & Handling

• Keep sealed, cool, and dry
• Avoid moisture and humidity during storage (wafer paper softens with humidity)
• Assemble the same day as the event for best appearance
