Edible photos for cakes can now be used to decorate cakes and other bakery items using simple steps. These images are termed as frosting sheets, edible images and icing sheet which are basically thin sheets of white icing that is fixed to a plastic backing in order to make it easier to handle nicely. You can find these sheets available in various sizes and shapes and may be printed out with edible ink. When it is done, the edible image is then placed on the cake after removing the plastic baking.
The main reason why so many people today use frosting sheet as part of the cake decoration is that it provides a personal touch to their celebration. The cakes and cupcakes look more personal with their own edible image and will be appreciated by all. It is a great surprise if you create special birthday cake for your dear ones with their favorite photo imprinted on the cake and make them happy on their birthdays or anniversaries.
Using frosting sheets for making picture photo cakes are not so difficult. Apply the image right on the top of the cake before the crust is formed on the icing. If the icing is already crusted, slightly make the icing mist with water before applying the edible image. In case the cake is fully covered in rolled fondant, brush piping gel onto the back of the edible sheet before applying it to the cake. Make sure to check the position where the image has to be placed because once the image is placed, it cannot be removed.
